Hatton V Pacquiao Well, that’s got to be it for Hatton, down on the canvas twice during a sketchy first round and then properly KOd in the second. Mannys short left sent Ricky rigid and he hit the deck like a plank of wood – it was worrying as fuck. He came round about 90 seconds later but there really was a moment of panic where you thought “oh jesus he’s brain-dead” and there were medics around immediately bracing his neck and trying to make sure he didn’t swallow his tongue. I’m sure he’s not out of the woods yet to be totally honest, he was up and walking afterwards, showing smiles and talking but his camp didn’t let him hang around. Although under his own steam they had him covered as he went under the ropes and down the steps and if he’s not off having scans now then I’d be really surprised. No interview clearly. It was quite one sided, there didn’t seem to be much in the way of new tricks to Rickys style, I mean I thought he was noticably faster but he was still the usual square-on brawling Hatton and his head didn’t really move. That’s got to be it for the hitman, game over, he wants to count some of his cash and just have a craic now. Loads of ways to be into boxing without getting your brain punched out. Brilliant exciting career though and well played to the pac man. Pacquiao / Mayweather anyone? ;)
Comments! DAN Sun 05 May 2009 Just watched it with Nick, was brutal. Seemed to be going alright then towards the end of the first ricky was hit HARD and you could tell it wasn't going to be a long fight. Poor ricky, quite sad seeing him laying on the canvas looking utterly confused. RICH Mon 05 May 2009 the pacman really is something very special. I think I'd like his chances against Wvladimir Klitschko ;-) Leave a Reply |
